Brian
started sketching animals at an early age. His high school biology
teacher told him that he should get into art because of his detailed
drawings. After his tour of duty in Vietnam and Langely, sports shaped
his life for the next 8 years. It was until a friend named Danny Hutt,
showed Brian his surrealistic art and he instantly became hooked. He
was discouraged for awhile because the art instructors wanted him to
"loosen up". He experimented and became a self-taught "realistic"
artist. After a struggle with certain events in his life keeping him
out of his artwork, he connected with Warren Hsiao and the world
renowned artist Violet Parkhurst. Taking lessons from Violet Parkhurst
enhanced and influenced his art to where it is today.
A Comment from the Artist:
"Most people don't notice a beautiful sunset. They are too busy in
their lives to see this beauty and it's a shame. I see the beautiful
sunrises, sunsets and the fabulous scenery as the wonderment God has
bestowed upon us. He has meant for us to enjoy it, to savor it and I
feel I must save it by capturing it on canvas. The gorgeous clouds,
sunsets and sunrises gets the creative juices flowing, it energizes
me!"
